Say hello to Kiah

What are you hoping to learn here at SLIK?

As much as possible on absolutely everything, the digital world fascinates me and I'm quickly realising that my old job/team really didn't do a good job of giving me the opportunity to grow/learn as much as I would have liked. In the short time I've been at SLIK I have already learnt and grown so much and I'm excited to keep doing that. One of my outlooks on life which crosses over a lot from work to my personal life is - the more you seek to learn and understand, the more you can connect and grow.

What would you say is your strongest skill?

People skills - The ability to connect with different types of people and be empathetic.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

A cold beer, a good pub band, Karaoke, making homemade pizzas with my family and camping trips with mates.

Where have you found inspiration recently?

My Mum, Dad and 2 brothers, I’m inspired daily by the strength, support and vulnerability they have shown over the past 2 years.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever worked on?

In work life: Anything I’ve worked on at SLIK in the last month beats anything I've worked on before. Personal life: Helping roof my in-progress home down south.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

Mum bought me a small phrase/advice book when I was little and I remember keeping it open to one page in particular, the phrase read, “Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up”. It’s always stuck with me.

Which 5 songs are topping the charts on your ultimate quarantine playlist?

  1. Darknet diaries.
  2. Enema - Tool (very relatable to this crisis)
  3. Dumb things - Paul Kelly
  4. Gimme Shelter - Rolling stones
  5. Grace gold - Meg Mac
